A Family Run Farm in Vermont
Our Story
Matt worked in his father’s meat market throughout his years of schooling, while Desirée’s father has been a butcher in many markets throughout Oregon for more than five decades. Our purchase of Asa Burton’s original homestead—built in 1779—made it possible for us to bring all of our history and knowledge together in Taste4Good farm. As the first parson of Thetford, Asa Burton fought what he saw as a “taste for vice” among citizens on both sides of the Connecticut river (Lyme, NH and Thetford, VT) by cultivating what he called a “taste for good.” We have taken the liberty of reinterpreting this concept for the 21st century, focusing on land stewardship, regenerative agriculture, and artisan butchery. A new, sustainable way of feeding ourselves and repairing the environment is our goal. Cruelty-free, grass-fed meat is our gift to you.
